Jaipur

So, here in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, land of the Rajs.  Toured the beautiful Amber Fort, built about 1,000 years ago.  Our hotel is previously in another lifetime a very old home really laid back kind of inexpensive hangout for folks from all over.  From the rooftop restaurant we saw green parrots fly by and kites flying from other rooftops as well as the Pink Palace in the heart of town in the 18th century.  It's a really cool place but i am getting totally ripped off by the vendors and I still haven't found my jewelry parts.  Maybe tomorrow.  photos to come.

Been a while!

Well another Studio Stroll under my belt here in the River Arts District.  Lot's of new faces, conversations, sales and just plain ole good visiting!  Speaking of visits, my sweet cousin Dan and his wife Karen showed up from Charlotte.  What a surprise and a treat.  Enjoyed it much.  Just wish we  had more time to catch up.....
So, for this stroll I had wiped out my inventory, (not really) but it was diminished greatly from the fabulously successful trunk shows I had in Baton Rouge and Slidell, Louisiana in April.   So, I got to working on new pieces and came up with about a dozen new pieces.  One is on my neck as I model my studio mate, Margaret Couch Cogswell's funtastic crown!  Check it out!    More to come when I come up for breath! Thanks for your patience.  Denise

Oh I just sat through the worst LSU game I can remember! I am not a big fan of football but was pumped up for this one for Bill and everybody down there in LA! Darn what a disappointing thing to sit through. But while sitting there I created! Some new designs using my last supply of Cherry Amber and Golden Amber, Turquoise and some beautiful golden Fresh Water Pearls! I'll post photos tomorrow when I get to the studio. Owie my neck is hurting! I'm getting too old for this occupation!

Plum Shellicious!

Oh, I love this piece! Do I say that a lot? You know they are all my babies! The sterling shell is a creation from the Karen Hill Tribe women of Thailand and the stones are irregular coin pearls, purple jasper faceted chunks and pink oyster shell. The sterling connecting chain is hefty for the shell to hang nicely from.
